NMEDA The National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association

Accreditation Process

  1. Request a QAP packet from NMEDA or download the information and print out the packet.
  2. Complete the Application/Confidential Questionnaire and Dealer Licensing Agreement found in the packet and forward them along with all certificates of training, certificate of insurance, NHTSA
registration letter, welding certificate (when applicable) and initial fee to NMEDA. An independent auditing firm will forward their contract to you. The contract must be signed and returned to them along with a check to cover your initial site inspection.
  3. Upon receipt of the signed contract and check, the auditing firm will forward a personalized hard copy and disc containing the Quality Control (QC) Manual.
  4. Complete the manual in a timely manner (within 30 days) and forward one copy to the auditing firm's Florida office (below) for review. You will be notified if any corrections or changes are necessary. Corrections must be made before final approval is given.
  5. Once the QC manual is approved, make four copies and send them to the auditing firm for signature and distribution. The firm will then notify NMEDA that you are ready for an accreditation audit.
  6. The auditing firm will contact you to schedule the accreditation audit. The audit will be conducted in accordance with the document entitled "NMEDA QAP Inspector Process". Product does not need to be available for this audit, but you must have control processes and inspection forms available for review at the time of the audit.
  7. Once the audit has taken place, the auditing firm will forward a copy of the audit report to NMEDA. NMEDA's QAP Coordinator will then follow up on any outstanding actions required prior to your QAP Certification.
  8. After reviewing the initial inspection report, NMEDA will issue the QAP Certificate of Accreditation.

Yearly renewal of accreditation is required.
